There are a lot of people talking about gear. I want to talk about firearms and shooting. 03Instructor

Preparing for your Home Defense set up
Everybody has opinions and the who, what, when, where, and hows covered or do you? My questions are do you ever do dry runs in your house or brief the occupants in the house of what to do? Do you have a backup plan for not just a home invasion but natural disasters and a evacuation plan? In your so called bug out plan have you accounted for the simplest of things like a crowbar, axe or saw, can opener? Example I live on the east coast by the ocean. During hurricane season I load out a bug out kit that includes a couple of extras like a axe preferably a chain saw and a nice long tow rope. I know it sounds crazy but a tree laying across the road is not going to get out of the way for you. Ex.. Crowbar- self defense, open buildings for lodging, open doors for food, first aid items, ammo you will be surprised. Items to dress a animal never seem to come up but everybody is quick to say bring a gun for hunting lol. Do you know how to dress a animal, make leather, use the animal to its max? Read up! These are some things that I would like for people to think about when they are putting together a kit. A cool tactical vest is just that, a piece of equipment for specific tasks. you need more than your glock to survive. lol Lessons learned from combat tours- a extra military issue duffle bag goes a very long long way! gathering supplies, trash bag inside and it can hold water, very good piece of gear that high speed low drag guys overlook for a molly webbing monster.
